I just assumed it wasn't possible, but I kept reading reviews about how there are 11 programmable buttons and I can't figure out where they are getting this number, so I figured there must be a way to bind at least two of the four DPI buttons even though I couldn't get it to work in Xim Manager. Here's my count, have I misunderstood something?Left clickRight clickMiddle clickScroll wheel upScroll wheel downScroll wheel leftScroll wheel rightThumb 1Thumb 2That's 9 buttons? Which of the DPI buttons are bindable and how do I do this? I don't expect to be able to ever bind the profile button but it makes sense to be able to use the other three.

I found the setting - you have to double click the picture of the mouse. But disappointingly you can only reclaim 2 of the 4 buttons, BUT - and there's a huge but - it comes at the expense of two of the existing, already working buttons. Here's how it works. Firstly, you need to rebind the DPI buttons to any of the other non-DPI buttons as pictured here:However, almost none of the non-primary buttons work. I tried rebinding it to Volume Up for example, but XIM won't detect that. So you end up having to bind it to one of the buttons that XIM ALREADY detects.which almost defeats the purpose since I use almost all of the buttons. So what I did was I set the bindings to two of the only buttons that I have not and will probably never use - mouse wheel left / right. They don't work particularly well in gaming so I was happy to sacrifice them.So the basic summary is, yes you can rebind the DPI buttons, but only at the expense of some existing buttons.so the net effect is you still have 9 buttons in total - no change.

PLEASE HELP!! Hi I'm brand new to all this so apologies if I'm misunderstanding something. I recently bought Logitech G502 mouse to use on PS4 cod ghosts. Here's the thing, I want to use the DPI shift button at the bottom, (thumb button) for reloading, so I've read your advice & reassigned the DPI shift to the right wheel click and DPI down to left wheel click (both under keystrokes withing gaming software). What do I need to do now to the thumb button at the bottom in order for XIM manager to be able to read this button and reassign it to the reload function?I keep fiddling but not getting anywhere! After making each change and then saving the profile I go back to XIM manager, press the reload button, it then just listens, then I press the 'thumb' button, but it remains as listening.

Really could do with help here as I'm so close to getting it how I like. Everything else is spot on and overall really pleased with the feel of everything with the XIM and the mouse. Thanks for your speedy reply. Ok I've done this in logitech software but still no luck. I've set Keystroke P to DPI shift & keystroke L to DPI down. On the Logitech software it displays DPI shift & DPI down as the right & left wheel. If I click on these to edit it shows: right wheel = Keystroke is P and name is DPI shift/and left wheel - keystroke L and name is DPI Down.I then went to edit command of thumb button at bottom & assigned as keystroke W, saved profile, then back into XIM Manager - buttons - hit reload, then it goes to.listening, I then press the 'thumb' button but it still does not register.

Am I missing something? Ah, you misunderstand, but it's an easy misunderstanding to make.Modern mice, in order to do macros and such similar things, are actually combination devices. They look like a mouse, but over USB they present themselves as both a mouse and a keyboard. When they need to emit a keystroke, they use their hidden/virtual keyboard to send it. The mouse itself is the keyboard. If you also have an actual keyboard attached, then you will effectively have two keyboards attached.

In fact, some keyboards also include a hidden/virtual mouse to allow for scrolling or touchpads, so you also could have two mice attached. You don't need to worry about conflicts or problems, though. It will just work.
